Description

Menactra is a vaccine designed to protect against invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y. It works by stimulating the body's immune system to produce antibodies against these bacteria, thereby providing immunity.

Dosage Schedule

Individuals aged 2 through 55 years: A single dose.

Possible Side Effects

Contraindications

  • Menactra should not be administered to individuals who have had a severe allergic reaction (e.g.
  • anaphylaxis) to any component of the vaccine or to a previous dose of a meningococcal vaccine.

  • Menactra is part of routine immunization schedules in many countries to protect against meningococcal disease. It's especially recommended for individuals at increased risk

Storage Requirements

  • Menactra should be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). It should not be frozen.
